Need ideas for a last-minute handmade mother’s day card? I got you! These are quick, easy, and super adorable. And if you’re one to worry about making handmade cards because you’re drawing skills are well…you know…then you’ve come to the right place. These simple cards are perfect for anyone who CAN’T draw (like me).
Here’s what you’ll need:
- White cardstock
- Black marker with a fine tip (I like illustration markers like these)
- Mini buttons (found these at Hobby Lobby)
- Craft glue (I love this permanent tacky glue)
- Ruler
Handmade Mother’s Day Card Option 1
Take a piece of cardstock measuring about 6″ x 3.75″ and fold it in half.
Using a ruler as a guide to keep your text straight, write in whatever text you want. I positioned the text about 1″ from the top.
Place your yellow “flowers” where you like them, then draw the vase. Add the “stems”, then glue the yellow buttons in place.
Option 2
Take a piece of cardstock measuring about 6″ x 3.75″ and fold it in half.
Write in your text about 3/4″ up from the bottom of the card.
Draw your stems, leaves, and grass, then glue on your button flowers.
Option 3
Take a piece of cardstock measuring about 6″ x 3.75″ and fold it in half.
Write in whatever text you want. I positioned the text about 1″ from the top.
Free hand straight lines of varying lengths. Add a few leaves and then glue your flower buttons on!
I love having simple go-tos for last minute gifts. I’ve gotten bad about planning ahead. :/ But these cards can be easily customized with different colors, sizes, pattern variations. And what could go wrong with adorable tiny buttons?
